P.S. 321 | 180 Seventh Ave. | Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood Classics founder and artistic director Simone Dinnerstein will perform a concert at P.S. 321 that features the music from her January 2014 Sony Classical album -- J.S. Bach's Two-Part Inventions. The concert will also include music by Beethoven, Crumb, and Nico Muhly.
Bach’s Inventions and Sinfonias, originally written in 1723 as a musical guide for keyboard players, remain a core part of the piano repertoire for students, amateurs, and professional musicians alike and have been lifelong companions for Simone. Simone's most recent all-Bach album from 2011, Bach: A Strange Beauty, was praised by the San Francisco Chronicle as embodying “unadorned but profound bliss.”
